Topic – A NEW DAWN WITH GREAT REFORMERS AND RESTORERS

Text – 1 Kings 15:11,12; 2 Chronicles 15:12-15; Isaiah 58:12

“And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, as did David his father. And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made” (1 Kings 15:11,12). You can see that some new was beginning in the land of Judah, as we have succession of kings, rulers, and leaders over the people, things were going down the drain, and bad in the kingdom. But here comes a new king with a new vision, new direction, a new life, and new activities. And here was one to make his reign a new reign, different from the past and the old, to make the reality of somebody new, with a new heart, a new mind, and coming on the throne, he saw that there were things to take away, and things to take on. You see if the year is going to be a New Year, there must be something to take away. You examine the kingdom of your own life, family and that surrounds you, and you say that if it is going to be a new year, there will be a new direction, must have a new discipline of my life, there must be a new deliverance, and a new dominion. There must be what to take away. And what to take on, to put on, a new dedication, a new direction and new lifestyle.  “And they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul” (2 Chronicles 15:12). You see there are people that live a so-so life, a lukewarm life, a life that there is no fire, no zeal, no direction, a life that there is no new thought, no new vision, no new direction, they don’t have any covenant, they don’t have any decision, no determination, they are just so-so man, act so-so like that, and nothing changes in their lives. Nothing comes of any thought after a new mind, and there is no new tongue, and no new man, but just so-so man. So, you need to look into your life, and make a difference in your life if this year is going to be a new year. If it is going to be a new year, there is going to be a new covenant with the Lord. Thank God for this new opportunity and new chance, and something new is going to be done in your life in Jesus Name. You see some of these kings, as we have studied them in our Search the Scriptures, they just decided that, that was what my fathers and predecessors did, but they just decided that I will a man of my own mind, decision, Will, vision, direction, action, going to claim independence for myself, the attachment to the old life, to the lives of the people that left and spoilt everything, but I am going to have, it’s a new day, new dawn in my life, move in a new direction, a new discipline in your life, new discipleship of the people in the kingdom, new detachment from people of the past. And they became…… “And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in” (Isaiah 58:12). They determined that success will not stop at their door, it will get to your children, grandchildren, because you are rising up the foundation of many generation. As we come into the new year, we have Restorers and Reformers, and these are great Instruments in the hands of God. And if we are going to have a New Dawn, we come together in agreement, in association, in unity, for the New Dawn with the Great Restorers and Reformers.

Point 1. The Neglected Conversion of Influential Reprobates

1 Kings 15:3,26,34; Jeremiah 6:28,30; 1 Kings 16:13,19,25-26,30-31; 18:3,7-12; 19:18; Romans 1:28-32; 2 Chronicles 33:9-13; Philippians 1:12,13; 4:22

There are people that come on the throne, even though they are reprobates but they are influential in the society. And they sit on the thrones in Israel. And their foolishness will determine the lives of other people in the land. And they were neglected because nobody went to confront them, and as a result they cause a lot of havoc in the nation.

“And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin” (1 Kings 15:26). He made Israel to sin, influential. He made Israel not to think of God anymore, but to think and do abomination. There was none that could go to these reprobates and show them the love of God, the transforming power of God, but they just follow them. They are called …..“Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the Lord hath rejected them” (Jeremiah 6:30). Those people were called revolters, corrupters. What is the influence of your life, teaching and character? Revolters, reprobates, that influenced a whole nation. And there were people in the land, they did not agree with the sin and abomination but they did nothing, say nothing, they confronted nobody, they just allow the people to remain and corrupted the whole nation. They were not isolated, independent sinners, but influential sinners. But it never came in the mind of anybody to rise up and go and present the good news of salvation, conversion, forgiveness unto them. They neglected their conversion. And they kept on influencing people in the wrong way. They remain vain, and nobody rose up to say we will do something, to tell them, we will show them, intercede for them pray for them. They could have been praying for them, preach to them, but nobody did that. The question is were there some people in the land that could have done that, pray and preach to them? “And Ahab called Obadiah, which was the governor of his house. (Now Obadiah feared the Lord greatly” (1 Kings 18:3). He kept his fear of God, faith in God, and faithfulness to God to himself. Where do you work? Do you work in places where there are influential reprobates? Do you pray, fast, preach to them, or you keep your faith and fear of God to yourself, like Obadiah. You see Obadiah very close to Ahab, and never opened his mouth to show his concern for the conversion of king Ahab, to pray and preach to him. “And it shall come to pass, as soon as I am gone from thee, that the Spirit of the Lord shall carry thee whither I know not; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find thee, he shall slay me: but I thy servant fear the Lord from my youth” (1 Kings 18:12). He even believed in the Spirit of God, to do anything and yet he never seeks for the conviction and conversion of the wicked man Ahab. You feared the Lord from your youth, and you are working under Ahab, a reprobate, and never open his mouth to the king Ahab. Let us know there is a voice in the land that will influence the Influencers. Even see these 7000 and yet none of them can confront Ahab. “Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him” (1 Kings 19:18). From today, you will do something. Rise up and seek for the conversion of influential reprobates. Somebody have to pick up courage, and go to them, not avoiding people, we need new year for the whole nation, our communities, a new year of honesty and prosperity, and we know the people who are in charge, we go to them, and preach the gospel to them. This year, you will talk and speak the word, and they will hear. If you could change one influential reprobates, you would have done a glorious work for the Lord.

“And when he was in affliction, he besought the Lord his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers” (2 Chronicles 33:12). When he was in affliction, he remembered the word that the courageous people have been telling him. So, don’t leave them alone, talk to them, they will remember that word in time of their trials and troubles.

The New Testament believers, they didn’t shut their mouths against those influential reprobates.

“So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places” (Philippians 1:13). Paul even in his bonds preached to those influential reprobates in the palaces. You will not shut your mouth, you will speak. And see the result…”All the saints salute you, chiefly they that are of Caesar’s household” (Philippians 4:22). The Lord is telling us that we have neglected the conversion of those influential reprobates for so long a time, but now we are going to rise up, and preach to them before they become so incorrigible and influencers that will destroy the lives of other people.

Point 2.  The Necessary Consecration of an Incorruptible Restorer

1 Kings 15:11,12; Isaiah 58:12,8-12; Lamentations 3:21; Daniel 12:3; 1 Kings 18:21,30-39

If you are going to be a Restorer, there is a necessary consecration that is required.

What are we going to remember you for? That he rose up in the land and restore this; conversion, conviction, Christian conscience, commitment to the work of God, consecration to the word of God. That the people were becoming careless, and you restore serious and single-mindedness in the kingdom of God. That you are the man when things were going down, the consciousness of humility, fear, faith in God, faithfulness to God, everything was going down, and you became a leader, and restore fear in God, faith and faithfulness to God.  That as you come here today, you want to consecrate your life to God to make me a Restorer of something good, great, the old path to dwell in, earnestly contending for the faith once delivered unto the saints, holiness, the truth, righteousness, repentance.

You have to make up your mind that you are going to be;

Incorruptible

A single-minded individual

A change agent

A Restorer

“And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made” (1 Kings 15:12). This is the person that wants to be Restorer and a change agent. And the Lord needs you today! I will be a change agent in Jesus Name. “And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in” (Isaiah 58:12). I will be Repairer and a Restorer of real conviction, Christian conscience, true conversion, humility before God, honesty, holiness, and then I will have the necessary consecration as an Incorruptible Restorer so that work and word of God will come alive again.

You will influence many lives, your ministry will continue improving and imparting lives, and making people what they ought to be before God. You will rise up and do it.  “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever” (Daniel 12:3). You are going to be a champion of holiness and preacher of righteousness. Reprobates will not be more powerful than you are. Influential reprobates will not influence people that you. I will turn many to righteousness.

“And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down” (1 Kings 18:30). How can you fold your hands, looking on, put your hands to the back, and do nothing? When you see all the people of God going their own ways, neglecting prayer and the Great Commission that Christ has given to His Church.

He used Elijah, He is going to use me. He was a Repairer, Reformer and Restorer, and I will be as well. I will turn the hearts of the people back to God. I need to consecrate and commit myself to do that.

Point 3. A New Covenant with an Inspired Reformer

2 Chronicles 15:7-15; Exodus 19:5-8; 2 Chronicles 23:1-3,7,24-25; Jeremiah 50:5; Psalms 50:5;

Covenant day and covenant year for you.

You will need to listen to the Spirit of God, you will come out of the crowd, if you are just flowing like dead fish which flows with the stream, do not have the strength to flow against the stream. The one who is going to be a Reformer, a Restorer, the one who is going to bring not only his family, but the whole church back to where we ought to be, earnestly contend for the faith once delivered unto the saints, he has been an inspirer, an influential, and a person himself who has been fired up from within, and he makes a new commitment and covenant with the people.

These Reformers were not alone by themselves, the people were united with them, to do the work of the Lord, and bring restoration into the land. Thank God, our GS is inspired, and we are going to join hands with him in unity and cooperation to do the work of the Lord in bringing back revival, righteousness, true Christianity and holiness with the totality of the word of God into our land and nations. And you have to come into a new covenant relationship with the Inspired Reformer, and then we will do the work together. Holiness, righteousness will reign in this land, and many will turn unto the Lord through us in Jesus Name. Your work, commitment, consecration, shall be rewarded.

You’ve picked up fear, timidity, looking down, throw them away. You will take courage. This is a new dawn, discipline, discipleship, decision, direction, dedication, and determination. I take up courage. You know unbelievers, backsliders, evil spirits, Satan, Revolters, Reprobates are courageous, and you the Righteous, is the one saying I don’t want any trouble. Why don’t you want trouble? Earnestly contending for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. This year is not a year of running away for anybody, I will not run away from my family, church and ministry. And something demands courage, and those courageous sinners confront me, and then I realise that I will take up courage.

“And they entered into a covenant to seek the Lord God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul” (2 Chronicles 15:12). The door to covenant is open this morning, but you have to enter in. The people that want to continue in compromise, abominations, corruptions, evil, and I am coming into a covenant with the Lord, that those ones that wants to remain reprobates, rebels, corrupters, and I have nothing to do with them. And the Lord will give me rest.

The Lord is calling us into a covenant of peace, purity, perseverance, patience, and partnership with the Lord. “And all the people answered together, and said, All that the Lord hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the Lord” (Exodus 19:8). I will do it. Come into a covenant with God, and with the Inspired Reformer.

“And he brake down the houses of the sodomites, that were by the house of the Lord, where the women wove hangings for the grove. Moreover the workers with familiar spirits, and the wizards, and the images, and the idols, and all the abominations that were spied in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, did Josiah put away, that he might perform the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the Lord” (2 Kings 23:7,24). This year we will not compromise with evil in this church, we will stamp everything out. He was unique, and I am going to be unique in Jesus Name. We are going back to Zion. We are going back to the very centre of the honour and glory of God in Jesus Name.

We ask the way to Zion with faces thitherward, saying, come and let us join ourselves to the Lord in a Perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.

Holiness will be our watchword this year. And we are going to help all those influential reprobates towards conversion, touch their lives, and you as an individual you will be an Incorruptible Reformer, and as you are taking care of the things of the Lord, the Lord will take care of you in Jesus Name. And then we are joined together, our heads, resources and everything we have got with the Inspired Reformer, we unite our lives together, and lay everything on the alter, and there is going to be a;

New Dawn

New Day, and we are going to walk in a

New Direction

New Decision

New Determination

New Diligence

New Destiny

New Deliverance, and a

New Dominion will be manifested for every life.

Ponder on this! You see if the year is going to be a New Year, there must be something to take away, and to take on. Pastor (Dr) W.F Kumuyi.

Reflections – In this New Year, there is going to be a; New Dawn; New Day, and we are going to walk in a New Direction; New Decision; New Determination; New Diligence; New Destiny; New Deliverance, and a New Dominion will be manifested for every life. Pastor (Dr) W.F Kumuyi.
